Tenaga Nasional’s subsidiary, TNB Remaco is expanding its power plant maintenance business in Kuwait with a Multi-Year Maintenance Program Agreement for the Shuaiba North Power Generation and Water Distillation Plant in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait.
The company has formed a joint venture with Kuwaiti based Company, Al Dhow Engineering and has signed a long-term service agreement with General Electric Global Services (GE Vernova) to provide maintenance service solutions for the gas turbines at the plant, which is owned by the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy (MEWRE) of Kuwait. The agreement is part of a broader effort by the Ministry to modernise the power generation infrastructure in Kuwait, contributing to the global effort for a sustainable energy transition.
Under the five-years contract, the joint venture partners would provide comprehensive planned and unplanned maintenance for the gas turbine and its auxiliaries at the 876 MW Shuaiba North Power Generation and Water Distillation Plant. The long-term service agreement was announced during United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28 UAE)
Currently TNB REMACO has four other ongoing maintenance service projects located in various power plants in Kuwait.
